The Lesson Plan Tool on Mwalimu App is a simple and effective way to generate professional lesson plans tailored to your needs. Follow this step-by-step guide to create a lesson plan in either the CBC or 8-4-4 format.
1. Click on the Lesson Plan Generator
To generate a lesson plan, you’ll need to navigate to the Lesson Plan Generator page from the home page.
2. Choose the Format
At the top of the page, you’ll see two buttons:
- 8-4-4 Format
- CBC Format
Click the button for the curriculum format you want to use. The page will adjust to match the format you select.
3. Fill in the Required Details
Now it’s time to provide the information needed to generate your lesson plan.
- Teacher’s Name:
Your name you registered with on Mwalimu App will appear here automatically. You can edit it if needed. - Subject:
Use the dropdown menu to select the subject you’re teaching (e.g., Mathematics). You can change your teaching subjects in the settings. - Topic and Subtopic:
Enter the main topic and subtopic of the lesson. These fields allow you to specify the focus of your lesson. - Class:
Choose the class level from the dropdown menu (e.g., Form 1). - Date:
Select the date of the lesson in the formatdd/mm/yyyy
. - Time:
Enter the lesson’s start and end time (e.g., 2:00 pm – 2:40 pm). - Roll:
Specify the number of students in the class.

4. Select Lesson Type
Choose the type of lesson you’re planning:
- Single Lesson
- Double Lesson
Simply click the option that applies to your situation.
5. Optional: Include Self-Evaluation
If you’d like to add a self-evaluation section (remarks) to your lesson plan, check the box labeled “Include Self-Evaluation (Remarks)” at the bottom of the form. If you leave this unchecked, it will simply leave a blank space where you can write the remarks later on.
6. Generate Your Lesson Plan
Once all the fields are filled in, click the green “Generate Now” button. The tool will process your input and create a professional lesson plan tailored to the selected format.
Tips for Best Results
- Be Specific: select the correct subject and specify the topic and sub-topic.
- Double-Check: Review your inputs for accuracy before generating the document.
Once generated, the lesson plan will automatically download itself for future use. You can still access it via “My Documents” in the menu.
